I find this quote from the Law of One very helpful with putting hypnotherapy into perspective:

On one end of the spectrum, a person may deliberately choose to speak from the conscious / ego part of their mind with the desire for something to be true. On the other end of the spectrum, a person may be sincerely seeking clarity and open to the information from the deeper part of themselves.

 

Also, in a way similar to dreaming, sometimes the subconscious may present information from a past life or sometimes it may present information in a metaphorical way. How would you know the difference?

Therefore, the most important thing is to be honest with yourself and use your discernment to think about how the information you receive can aid in you in this life in a constructive way.
